1smallpole I think that people do bad first time round asking for DLA is no plan but down to the many mistakes people make filling in the forms
the DWP and this and other sites tell people its for what you need help not whats wrong, but people still spend too much time naming whats wrong and not enough going into the basics of help needed and what they can and cant do.

Thank you so much everyone - you have no idea how your comments boosted me to start fighting.
This morning I will print off the G form thing and then read all the guides for appeal ....
I honestly dont know what more i could have put in the original application - i had GP back up, consultant letter, emergency treatment hospital plan, diary, photograph and loads more info on the condition (its really rare - only about 50 people with it in the UK)- but never mind....I will (with your support) start the process.
Thank you again everyone you are all so helpful and supportive x

Hi Everyone - Just to update you because you were so supportive.
After all the advice on here - we have gone straight to appealas recommended - no point beating around the bush.
The GL24 and a rather firm (but constructive) letter will be winging its way to the DLA very soon.
I imagine we are in for a long wait now - but i have checked the case law and think that legally we have enough evidence to prove that we qualify on a few points.
So thank you again and i will keep you posted...x

Hi I know exactly how you feel, have just had my first refusal too. i think I will appeal but don't know what else to tell them that i haven't written already. they asked for a report from my GP who I hardly ever see but not one from the THREE specialists I see at the hospital. Good luck anyway my heart is with you.
