I have a little question(its been a while since I've been here) so here goes:- I currently receive DLA Care(high rate) and Low Rate Mobility and also ESA(awaiting medical)and recently my knee has given up the ghost(due to service injury-Pete you helped me previously with service injuries-PTSD,deafness,ankle injury, 2 years ago before I went to prison for defending my family-long story ending in divorce)back to the point, is it worth me risking my high care for the sake of high mobility and if I lose high care DLA will I lose the ESA premiums? Thanks. (P.S. Its nice to see the forums back)
Hi,
I seem to recall your case from way back. I hope you are doing okay now.
As Survivor above says, yes asking to review your LRM could put at risk your HRC.
However (and this 'should' have been done when you came out of incarcaration) either SSAFA or The RBL oe Veterans Welfare Service should have done you a benefit check (unless you declined it) as part of the Prison Outreach service. Even so, it may still be worth getting intouch with either the RBL, SSAFA (only in some areas though as not all case workers are benefits trained), or the Veterans Welfare Service. They will go through your current claims face to face and assess the likelyhood and/or risks attached to asking for a review and help you apply if necessary.
Regards
Pete

. The visit to Cardiff and Tom House was to see about the knee and maybe pursue the old cases as I couldnt follow up and appeal as HMP wouldnt let me attend tribunals or process paperwork. As for "Prison outreach" there isnt any at HMP Prescoed anyway! Lucky to get food let alone outreach! LOL!

Hi,
Good to hear that you are getting help with your benefits/War Pension etc.
Good luck.
