The following item, although it is over six years old, would seem in part to be still relevant to this thread:-
BOGOF! Old IB medicals reused for new DLA decisions.

Replied by happyturtle on topic [UPDATE] DLA - lost my mobility allowance
Just an update to say my appeal to reinstate my high rate mobility allowance was successful, without having to go to tribunal, and the payment backdated to when it was taken from me. The decision to keep my care at low rate remained the same. So overall, my supercession was not successful, and in fact caused me a great deal of stress and several months of financial hardship to end up in the same position I was in before. Lesson learned I guess.
I've been keeping a health diary since August, using the site www.patientslikeme.com , so if my condition deteriorates more, I will have more documentation when I attempt to have my care rate increased. But I think I am afraid to try again any time soon.
Thanks for the help and encouragement from everyone. This site is a huge help, and I will definitely be renewing my membership when it expires in May.

Hope Ann
It may not have been the result you wanted, but I think you should still take some comfort from what you achieved.
Well done.
