Further to my recent question i have another one... sorry lol...
As both myself and my husband are disabled (he's on higher rate DLA i'm on middle for care) we both get a 'care allowance' for each other. However, the allowance we get for him i.e for me caring for him comes seperately from the DWP. I didn't apply for this they wrote to us, i filled in the form and we got the allowance. Because of this i lost my 'disibility premium' as part of our IS payment.
Obviously sooner or later i'm going to be switched over to ESA and should the worst happen (which from all i've read seems highly likely given the new WCA that's coming in) and i fail the medical how does that affect the fact that i'm my hubby's carer???
Also, does the fact that i have PTSD and PRSD, am on anti-depressants for life and when under stress have severe bouts of depression/suicidal tendancies have any impact on the ESA medical??

If you are actually receiving Carers Allowance, then a failure of ESA shouldn't affect what you receive, in fact getting ESA would be a problem as the ESA payments would override any CA payment. If the payment is something else then I think we would need more information as to what it is to answer.Obviously sooner or later i'm going to be switched over to ESA and should the worst happen (which from all i've read seems highly likely given the new WCA that's coming in) and i fail the medical how does that affect the fact that i'm my hubby's carer???
The WCA has both physical and mental health tests, you can read about the latter in the ESA section of the Members Section. Also, does the fact that i have PTSD and PRSD, am on anti-depressants for life and when under stress have severe bouts of depression/suicidal tendancies have any impact on the ESA medical??
