This organisation needs to be looked at!
My daughter (injured by an assualt at work) underwent surgery and as a result is now suffering from lack of use in her arm and hand. ATOS brought her in and 'examined' her for ESA. They also carried out another assesment for Industrial Injury disablement benefit.
As a result, she was told that she did not qualify for the Disablement benefit, but this week has received confirmation that she is eligble for ESA at an increased amount!
To say that the examination for Disablement was a farce is an understatement. It consisted of 30 minutes of questions and 5 minutes of 'lift your arm'- move your hand' etc. It was a disgrace and we are obviously appealing.
The second exam was in depth and covered all the aspects associated with her lack of usage. This was more than satisfactory and as said, resulted in her being granted ESA.
The point to be made here is that it is apparent to anyone that ATOS and its 'health professionals' consist of a mixed bunch. They need to be brought to task and be answerable.
I wonder how many more people will have been turned down due to their incompetence in some areas.

Sadly, there aren't many fans of Atos on here. Indeed, I don't find many fans of theirs amongst benefit claimants anywhere I go on the net.
