Hi my first time posting on the forum, and my question is..... does anybody have any idea as to whether IIDB is to be phased out and replaced by the ConDems Universal Credit?

Thanks Gary

I have had a quick look through and can't seee anything specific to Industrial Injuries Disability Benefit, however, last months announcements were a statement of intent, not specific details of what will be done, so I think it may be too early for an answer.

The details of the announcement can be viewed on this site, Welfare and Benefits is towards the bottom.

Hope this helps.

Stephen

To the best of my knowledge IIDB will not form part of the planned single credit. However, successive governments have decimated the Industrial Injuries Scheme over the years.

It's now possible to lose a finger and get no IIDB. Claimants now have to have at least an industrial disease or accident and to be assessed as 14% which is upped to 20% otherwise they get nothing.

See Introduction to the Industrial Injuries Scheme
