Hi
Both myself and husband are in receipt of DLA for a indefinite period.
Now this coalition government have decided to get rid of DLA and replace it with PIP does that mean that we will have to go through medicals yet again?
So worried and stressed i carnt sleep at night, i cry to myself even my little boy asked me the other day what will we live on mummy he heard me talking to my husband about things.
It is constantley on my mind nothing else matters.

At this stage PIPs is only at the consultation stage. A lot can happen before 2013/14 when it is due to be introduced.
I know it can be worrying but until such time as laws are passed you may remain on DLA. I am sure you are not alone in your thoughts but other than lobbying your MP etc and keeping updated, it is difficult to know what to say other than it is at least 2 to 3 years before anything will change.

I know it is easy to say and not so easy to do, but I wouldn't worry about these changes.
What you have read are proposals, there is a consultation going on and legislation will need to be passed before the PIPs system can come into effect and even then it won't be before 2013.
It is likely that there will be exceptions and even if you have to attend a medical, that does't mean you will fail. As soon as the information becomes available Steve will be preparing documentation on the best way to explain your disabilities.
It's Christmas, a time for celebration, I'd put all your energies into making it a good one.
