if you are on incapacity benefit and higher rate care allowance do you have the new esa medical or do you go straight into the support section of esa .

There's no automatic exemption from a medical when people on DLA(HRC) are migrated to ESA.

However, there are some exemptions from a medical for ESA, which you can find in our guide to claiming ESA. Also, not all migrations will be subject to a medical, since the DWP decision makers will look at what evidence they have and decide whether a medical is necessary. In relation to some people on IB, it will be evident from the information on file that they are eligible for ESA.
