26th May, still awaiting that call from Atos for medical, how long does it take for them to decide what to do after receiving ESA50?
Has anyone ever got away with not having the medical because of the supposed linking rule?

And to the person that comented on my working in telesales - it was 6 weeks I did, and would have been there forever had my physical self permitted, I loved it, but my body couldn't cope :(

Thanks Lynn for your helpful advice, so many of us must be worried sick about being made to work when we actually cannot.

27th May - Yippee today is benefit day, could maybe get something nice for dinner, so I checked my bank account and there was NO payment of ESA, so I phoned the ESA and was told there had been a benefit failure whatever that means, and someone would call me within 3 hours, 2 hours later I'm still waiting, Bank Holiday weekend upon us and I will have no funds to even buy food.
And NO the Atos have still not called to make apt. for medical, all this stress could send someone over the edge, oh yeah, that's what they want so I'll stay calm, for now!

Hi Lyn

Re: Atos have still not called to make apt. for medical
It depends on the workload in your area. I got a phone call one week after sending ESA50 offering an appointment three weeks after that.

Sorry to hear of the "benefit failure" (just about sums up the entire system right now!) I'm having beans on toast this evening - with a smear of Marmite to jazz things up - you're welcome to join me! :silly:

Andy.

Hello again, I finally got the call for Atos medical on Wednesday 8th June, they asked me to attend on Friday 10th June, I agreed to go as I'd been waiting for so long; The Dr was a 25ish polish female, she was so unsympathetic towards me, (My son died on 3rd June & My sister on 27th Jan)she didn't want to know, also I showed her my award from DLA tribunal, she flicked her hand and said she wasn't interested in it, I asked her if she had read my medical evidence, she said she had, then she asked me how my illness effected me, I showed her the letter that I'd sent with ESA50 (cover letter) and she read it, asked if she could photo copy it, again I said yes, she then stood up and asked me to bend and touch my toes (wanting me to stand to do this), I'm using two crutches for stability, I told her I was in a lot of pain and couldn't touch my toes without falling, she then asked me to stand on my tip toes..again having to stand to do this,by this time I was crying with pain and frustration,I had stood up, sat down, asking her why she was doing this to me, I even suggested I would be better off dead, then she wouldn't have to make me go through so much pain. I don't know what the report will say about me, but I have told my doctor I had a bad time, I asked my doctor to log it onto my medical records for future reference, since I see that even disabled people can have benefits suspended, or find me fit to work..they can try, but I WILL APPEAL.
OK ranting over, if I'd done this on Friday when I got home, well I dread to think what I would have said.

ahhhh bless, I did finally get my benefit after asking for supervisor call back, they apologised and put it through, but how nice it is to know there are some nice people out there, I'll let you know if it happens again.

Linda :)
