Hi Toggle.
I think the medical that has been suspended is the WFHRA assessment whatever that stands for? I'm not sure it had anything to do with the support group?
It was my understanding that it was an assessment carried out by Atos that looked more closely at barriers to work due to a person's disability/illness and how they might be overcome - that sort of thing.
I personally think that Atos lack any real expertise in occupational health and the WFHRA was probably beyond them.
Best wishes

That's right Catherine. The Work-Focused Health-Related Assessment (stupid name) was designed to produce a report that assists WFI interviewers. The test for the support group takes place at the same time as the test for the WRAG.

Hi Catherine
Yes, I think you're right, the WFHRA, which stands for work focussed health related assessment, doesn't have anything specifically to do with the support group and was the compulsory assessment that claimants had to have for the purposes you mention after having been found to be eligible for the work-related activity group. The WFHRA was never compulsory for those in the support group but I think they could request one if they wanted to.
Kind regards
Mr B

sorry if this caused confusion.

No, you will be placed in an ESA group based on how you meet the ESA criteria.does this mean that everybody gets put in the other group i had my esa medical on 17/4/2011 will that be for the work capability one ?
