D.L.A. HIGHEST MOBILTY AWARD RENEWAL was created by flapper
I was awarded the highest rate of disability living allowance in may 2010 for 2 years until may 2012. This is because i will be having revision surgery this september this year to have the original hip replacement putb in june 2008 removed because it was unsuccessful, and will be having a new 2nd one fitted. The d.w.p. feel that this will solve all of my orthopaedic and o/a problems. So i have been advised i will be sent a renewal form 6 months before my award ends on may 2012. Does any member know if it is called "a change of circumstances form" "a renewal form" or just a plain old "new application". As we are now changing over to p.i.p. in 2013 will it affect me as i will be 66 when my present award ends? Any comments or advice we be very welcome. I know its early days but i want to be prepared and give them no reason not to renew my d.l.a. thanks for reading my questions and look forward to all of your replys

modedit: please do not post in UPPER case as it is a problem for people using text to speach systems. Gordon

You should treat each DLA renewal a effectively a new application and include all relevant evidence, even if previously submitted.

With regard to PIP, at the moment it seems unlikely that that it will affect you because of your age, but information regarding PIP in the long term is not available, so it is possible that this will change.
