DWP Manager called me today - very interesting. was created by lochlisa
hi all,
as you may know my ESA was refused on 0 points, even with a home medical. Today, after requesting my medical report for a 3rd time a Manager from DWP phoned and we had a rather interesting conversation.
She admitted she was confused as to why I scored 0 points even with a home medical and even when I am on DLA. She went into some history of my claim and confirmed that she has a letter from my MP which she is responding to.
She went on further to confirm that my case was at reconsideration and that last year my ESA claim, that was refused on a basis of a previous ATOS medical, was overturned at reconsideration which she admitted was unusual. She also admitted that if they overturned it last time and didn't overturn it this time that they would have a lot of explaining to do !
She also noted that this time my condition is worse and that there is loads more medical evidence in my favour.
She promised that my medical report was now on its way to me and that I was, of course, welcome to submit anything more when I have read this report.
I was quite shocked to be honest but really appreciated the time she took to call me and explain what was going on.
What do you all think of this?
best wishes, Lisa

It sounds like your MP's letter is stirring them into action!

Obviously Lisas MP isn't David Cameron.

Hi Lisa
I hope all goes well for you. As a point of interest, did your MP answer your letter. I wrote to mine, but never heard back from him.
Best wishes jaxie

yes, my MP wrote to me twice and one of his staff phoned me as well.
I certainly can't complain about how quick he jumped on the issue.

Hi lisa.
It sounds really hopeful that the reconsideration will go in your favour (fingers crossed) and contacting your MP was a good move.
Best wishes
