DLA Renewal Do I contact them or do forms get sent was created by Betabet
This is my very first posting. My DLA is due to expire on November this year. Do I automatically get renewal forms or do I have to ask for them and if I do how soon should I do this? Thank You.

They are normally sent out 4 months in advance (it used to be 6), you can always start filling the forms in early, it can be downloaded fromThis is my very first posting. I had my DLA renewal form sent to me a few months ago but was advised by my Welfare Officer to think carefully about when I sent it in. I sent it in three days before the cut-off date! What happened - well within two weeks my DLA personal care was stopped! Two and a half years ago I had been receiving hrm (stopped June 2009) My tribunal/Appeal is due 27 July so I have had a long wait. The DLA gave no explanation why my DLA was suddently taken away as my illness had not improved!! and now lower rate care has been suspended for 11 weeks. Had I sent off the form I may have lost 77.60 per month. On the other hand it may have been the decision to either grant the benefit or take it away could have been made sooner. Did I make the choice? I will let you know the outcome on July 27th.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no time limit, it would depend upon how busy your GP is.
It would be advisable to contact your GP's practice and ask them if your GP could send
back the form from the DWP ( called a Factual Report) as soon as possible.
However, if you haven't seen your GP for a while, it would be advisable to see them in person to make sure that they're fully aware of your medical condition(s)
Good luck.
