driving to atos medical

thanks for all the great replys, my driving is very limited, i drive no more than twice a week once to take my partner to get the food shopping and the other time is to go to the doctors. when i say shopping i mean it takes ages to get just the food shopping done because of the time it takes me to walk,plus i cannot sit for any length of time so a wheelchair is out of the question, i would be forever getting in and out.the drive to the shops is only 5 mins away so my partner could walk to the shops but this is my higlight of the week we stay home the rest of the time because of my problems, plus we do not have any type of social life (boo hoo no friends or family arround) i feel sorry for her because she is a fantastic carer,I am a bit annoyed with the dla because they droped my car component to the lower rate so she cannot claim carers allowence. i was told by dla that i should not try to get it back or i could loose the lot,i spoke to a verry nice lady from dla and she told me that i depends on if the person who looks at the forms has had a bad few days or has fell out with his misses they would just fail whoever they wanted to, she was disgusted with the way it works she also told me that they have no medical background but they no enough about people. it is just terrible the way that dissabled people are treated by so called assesors. sorry for the rant
