When my partner got CA because I went on to higher rate DLA, the spouse part of my IB was stopped because, the CA is classed as a cross over benefit and you can't claim for both, and I don,t think that you can claim IS as you are not down on the monies you have coming in.

Just a wee update on this Income support subject. I have just had the phone call last week to give details to them and a copy of the answers given at time of call arrived for me to sign comment and return to them. The cover letter stated nothing to do with the detailed printout to be sent back , no, it only stated now I have applied for the Income support we will be in touch via local office to arrange for you to be interviewed with a view for employment within JSA set up . I was only asking for the approved I.S. for a drop in my income as my Wife was given care allowance to look after me. I was already told by them I would get the £17 pw I.S. before speaking to them on phone, but being on DLA HRC/HRM with a lower incap ben, they are jumping gun not even telling me I will be sent for a medical yet. The I.S. are still the same monster I remember from 10 years ago when last getting it. Query anything and they send out a letter for a medical ,and I had many from them up till 2003 , 2 in six months back in 1998 while unable to walk and an invasion of my home demanding information without notice at threat of losing benefit. So I would disagree with Gordons appraisal completely for now, as they are like the wolf in sheeps clothing still.
