Thanks, Gordon. Do you think it's going a bit too far pointing out the descriptors I think I qualify for? I think I qualify for one, maybe 2 support group descriptors (exceptional circumstances) but I am worried that I didn't explain myself properly on my form so should I just spell it out to them "...would be at risk.." Or is that a step too far? thanks again

MG,

As a NONMOD, that's a new one!! LOL, IMO, it helps to cross reference your limitations resulting from your conditions to the actual descriptors, that you think apply to you.

Also yes if you feel that you fall under the exeptional circumstances for WRAG, or Support group, don't be afraid to tell them.

Again, as I say in many posts it can certainly do no harm, it also lets them know that you are aware of the regs and legislation, and may therefore "HELP" them to give you a correct award.

Of course, this is a matter of choice and not necessity.

cheers

I'd just like to add to this post that I understand that many people are not able to put their case across to the DM/ATOS as I have suggested, due to anxiety, or other conditions.

Further these may be the very same conditions on which they base their claim.

Hopefully in such cases, they can get a close friend or relative to fill in the ESA50, and put up the arguements for descriptors Ex/Circ on their behalf.

Then the actual claimant can simply sign to state that the friend/relative has written and compiled the ESA50, etc, with given permission, and it is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge.

That seems the best approach. My MP wants to get involved and has asked for all copies of correspondence. I got my report yesterday, 10 days after requesting it! So many discrepancies, so I have copied it to my doctor and MP with my appeal highlighting the discrepancies. My Mum posted them recorded delivery to the jobcentre. They have now sent two letters out in error to me, no explanation and it has had a detrimental effect on my mental health, these to have been copied to my MP. If you can get them on board I feel more confident that it will have an impact on my appeal and show up the system for what it is!!!!

It's very draining. Good job we can support one another on this forum - Good luck x

Please have a look through the forum as this topic has been discussed in detail during the last few days.
