Hi all,

I have multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer) which is incurable, After 2 years of medicals and tribunals I was finally put into the support group last month.
I have now completed my renewal form and my hrm and mrc habe been reduced to low care and low mobility, when my situation had not changed. I even sent them a copy of my esa medical report which supported my case.
I have asked for a reconsideration, I have been told I have up to 12.8.11 to appeal after reconsideration which I haven't received a reply to as yet. However I have received a letter saying they are looking at my reconsideration and it can take up to 11 weeks, even though it only took 4 weeks for original decision, and not to contact them in this time. My worry is I only have up to 12.8.11 to appeal.

Hi,

Appeal using a GL24, if you have any doubts, a Reconsideration takes place automatically on appeal anyway.

Hi Shandy

It's preferable to appeal straight away. However if the DWP refuse to review the decision you will have one calander month from the date the letter is sent, to appeal.

Good luck

Derek

Hi All,

Just to let you know I have had the dreaded brown envelope today on the request I sent for a reconsideration, low and behold they have overturned the decision and have given me high rate mobility and high rate care. I can't believe it, I am so relieved. It just goes to prove that you have to stick to your guns on what you believe to be right.
