ESA awarded to date

ESA awarded to date was created by Porridge
I wondered if anyone can give a definative "yes" or "no" answer to this question.

The ESA award letter from the DWP that a person receives if they have not had to go through an interrogation medical states a number of things, and right at the end it states the amount of money they will receive. Nearly the last sentence of it says: "from" (a date) and then some people's letters say "to" (another date). It's the "to" I am interested in.

Does that "to" refer to a) a date on which the amount of money they will receive will change for some reason or b) the date on which they will have to fill in another ESA50 form and start the whole shebang again?

Because if you get ESA without going through a medical you have NO IDEA at all when you will be put through it all again. In my case I have asked the DWP in writing about this and they didn't reply. That was several weeks ago.

Both Crazy Diamond and Derek have replied to me and one other person suggesting that the "to" date is meaningless and merely computer-generated. IS THIS TRUE?

Thanks.

I cannot give you definitive answer to what it is but I can say what it is not.

It is not the date at which your ESA payments will change or cease.

ESA is payable until a Decision is made that you are Fit for Work or you declare yourself as Fit for Work.

Kate, just checked my last letter, it states that I will be paid ESA from 12/3 to 25/3.

I am still getting ESA, so as Gordon says, dates are pretty meaningless.

We are all just holding our breath and crossing our fingers that a date for another medical doesn't come along any time soon!

Best wishes,
Rachel :)

I think they put all these different dates in letters to get the computer to print letters I suspect they might have a little problem with there software :silly: the real problem and worry would come if someone tries to fix it :woohoo:

Hi Kate

I was transferred from Incapacity to ESA Wrag group recently without a medical.

On the page where it tells you what you are being paid, it said that this amount applies from August 2011 to November 2011.

I thought that meant I would be reassessed again in November, but having asked about it in the forum, I dont think it means that at all.

I'm just praying I dont have to go through this awful process again soon.

Were you put in the Wrag group? Have you been called to attend a work focused interview? I'm dreading that too!
