Tracy

I'm glad this has been sorted out for you, especially with regard to the money.

At the risk of dampening your spirits slightly, and I apologise in advance.

You have been misinformed with regard to the Support Group! You don't get into the SG with 18 points or even 30, it is not points based at all, you need to meet one or more of the SG criteria.

Also, submitting evidence that your husbands condition has deteriorated will not result in him being automatically placed in the Support Group. You can ask for a Revision and if he them determined to meet the SG criteria he will be moved.

Sorry

Gordon

Let us know please if you get it in 1 swoop.? My son was owed money from the ESA of the severe disability component and they paid him in installments. He is on high rate care. Unbelievable. It still wasn't that straightforward as it took him 3 months, them losing the forms twice and trying to get out of paying it to even start getting the money in installments he was owed.
With all this has well they had for some reason best beknown to them my son on clerical paperwork so everytime he phoned them he would have to wait for someone to call him back. It cost him a fortune as well as the stress. My son has bi polar so it didn't help his mental health one bit.

We put in a complaint about it all. They finally contacted him after he contacted them again about the complaint and they said they couldn't find it (we had proof as he had sent rec delivery). They took him off clerical and put him on the system after the phone call and were very rude to him asking what his problem was now he was off clerical. They had no interest in the money he had spent on these calls

Thank you Gordon, maybe they should employ you as the DWP seem to know bugger all!!
I did think it was a little easy to just go and get a letter from your doctor and whoosh straight in the support group.

We're gonna leave it for now if payment is sorted, sick of it all for now.

I appreciate your help and advice Gordon, you do a fantastic job along with the other mods.

@ Kefkat I'll post here as soon as we get payment or letter to let you know.
it's all wrong paying by instalments, if they owe your son money they should pay up, they act like it's coming from their own pockets at DWP my partner worked all his life up until his heart attacks forced him to stop, he hates not being able to work.

Good luck to your son :-)

Tracy.
