Industrial Injury Disability Benefit

Hi,
I am 52 years old and I had to give up my work as a HGV driver back in 2007 after suffering an industrial accident which also resulted in me not having my HGV licence renewed. I applied for and have received IIDB at a rate of 45% for the past 3 years(which is payable at the 50% rate).After a few medicals I have now been awarded IIDB at the rate of 45% disability for life. Even though I cant walk independently or carryout normal day-day tasks without severe pain,I would love to find some form of paid work. If I was to find some sort of paid employment would I lose my IIDB. I also receive DLA, both care & mobility components at the high rate due to my predicament,so would I also miss out on these benefits.

DLA is not means-tested and does not depend on whether you work or not.

However, any activities involved in your work can be taken into account when considering whether you remain eligible for DLA. See our guide to permitted work in the members area for more details on this.

I'm afraid IIDB is outside the scope of this forum and I don't have any personal knowledge of the effect of work on IIDB.

I think but I would like you to recheck that IIB can carry on when you go back to work. But please double check this
