unhappy [BIG understatement] because I have been placed in the work related activity group instead of the support group!!! I cannot go out without my husband... anywhere... so how is that going to work? He works full time as well as being my carer. I am inshock... they phoned up and refused to speak to my husband even though I had put on the esa050 that they should call him as I have trouble with talking full stop never mind on the phone. I only took some of what she said in so have to wait till the paperwork comes through but it is madness. I am never going to get better, 'sigh' actually as I will have to appeal that will make me worse. Every time I flare up bad for any length of time 'normal' becomes that much worse. I feel like I am in a nightmare. Great they awarded me ESA without a medical but sooooo bad cos they haven't put me in the support group and I am totaly confused :(

Hi Linda.

There seems to be a lot of cases where people are being assigned to the WRAG component of ESA without a medical.

This seems extremely unfair to me as it seems to be happening to people who were expecting to be placed in the support group.

As well as appealing the decision, you could consider involving your MP in a complaint and writing to Anne Begg MP (Chair of the Select Committee) as Rachel has been suggesting. You could also write to Prof Malcolm Harrington who has called for evidence regarding problems with the WCA and contact Mind if your difficulties are caused by mental health issues.

It really does seem deeply unfair, particularly if you have stated that you cannot go out without your husband, which would make engaging in work related activity pretty impossible.

I really feel for you.

Hi

I received a letter, stating that I was going to be moved from IB to ESA and that I would be put in the WRAG group. But I still have to attend a medical on 12th Aug. Totally confused by it all!!!

I agree with Catherine. We all have a voice and we should use it to show Government the strength of opinion that the people feel. We employ and vote for them.
