There are three medical reports that can be requested; an ESA65, ESA85 and the the new ESA85S, the latter only came into effect from 0606/11 so only recent claims will have one.

The ESA65, often referred to as the Statement of Reasons, briefly explains how the DM came to their Decision.

The ESA85 is the main medical report and is produced by the ATOS HCP, usually through the LiMa software.

The new ESA85S Personalised Summary Statement, is handwritten by the ATOS HCP and is used by them to justify their medical statements in comparison to the claimants statements on their ESA50 and any medical evidence submitted.
