hi
please excuse but what does LCW LCWRA mean

LCW - Limited Capability for Work, which will place you in the Work Related activity Group (WRAG).

LCWRA - Limited Capability for Work Related Activity, which will place you in the Support Group.

thanks

We have had instances on B&W, where members who are appealing WRAG to Support, have been told that they do not have to attend anymore WFI's while appealing.

However this seems to vary from area to area, and as of yet we have not found any definitive regs to cover this.

Maybe worth querying it though.

Good luck on your appeal, if that's what you decide to do, use all the guides here, and come back to the forum if you have any further queries.

Keep an eye on this thread as other Mods or members may post further helpful advice.

cheers

Hi Clio and Bro58.

There is a pretty detailed document that came out earlier this month on the IB reassessment process.

In the question and answer section (can't see any page numbers) it states: Since October 2010, claimants are no longer required to attend Work Focused Interviews whilst appealing.

www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/ib-reassessment-information-pack.pdf

I would have thought the same rules apply for existing ESA claimants as well as those being transferred from IB, but I am no expert - and do get the wrong end of the stick sometimes!

The document also contains all sorts of information concerning when people are likely to be transferred from IB.

Best wishes

I've had a look through the document you linked to and whilst it is not explicitly stated, I think the section you are refering to relates someone appealing a Decision that they did not qualify for the WRAG, rather than the Support Group.

Hi Gordon. Yes it isn't totally clear, but i wouldn't have thought they could make someone who is appealing being put in the WRAG go for WFIs if they are saying those who are appealing being put on JSA don't have to. It would be more likely the other way round if they were going to differentiate i would have thought???

Best wishes
