Hi Mrs Hurtyback

Please follow the link to SSP which I'm giving below. If you have any other questions please let us know, or you may wish to seek advice from a Union if you are in one, or an Advice Centre such as Citizens Advice Bureau www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits...rinjured/DG_10018786

Regards

Michael

You could try to find a definitive answer to your question by contacting the Benefit Enquiry Line.

An employer issues a SSP1 once you are no longer entitled to SSP or your Company Sick Pay runs out if it is for a longer period than 28 weeeks. Company Sick pay can be payable for longer than 28 weeks depending upon the terms of the scheme.

Upon receipt of form SSP1 you can make a claim for ESA even if you are still employed.

I am still employed and claiming ESA as my entitlement to SSP and Company Sick pay has run out.

I Had this.
I was advised to phone up and claim for esa 1 month before ssp was going to stop. I did this and after a further telephone call from them , was sent a letter telling me the date my esa would start and how much per wek.
Otherwise there would be a gap where you wouldn't be receiving any money.

Mod edit: please do not post in upper case.

Yes, Jon, that gap is what I am worrying about (especially as I am still in dispute with my employers regarding how much they are going to pay me during my notice period).
I have asked for my SSP1, so I should be able to get the ball rolling soon.
