Hi, ATOS very kindly sent me a reminder about getting my ESA50 in on time!
Just wondering if this is the norm now?
Best wishes,
Rachel

Yes rachel, have been seeing this more and more.
It is generally around a fortnight before the ESA50 return deadline.
It is apparently a legal requirement, so if your form is returned late, or not at all, they can say they reminded you in writing.
cheers

It's a legal requirement to send a further request for the form at least four weeks after the first letter and no less than two weeks before the deadline, but in my opinion the words: WE NEED YOUR MEDICAL QUESTIONNAIRE URGENTLY, followed by an instruction to return the form 'as soon as you can', is unlawful, because 'as soon as you can' may be less than two weeks!

Thanks Bro and Derek,
I do feel that although it is a legal requirement, it's worded badly, as you have stated, it can make people panic, it did me, just getting the envelope!
Also, as you stated, you still have the 6 weeks in which to fill out the form.
I don't like the fact that they say "send it in as soon as possible", when you are allowed 6 weeks!
Thanks again,
Rachel

In all honesty I've never taken any notice of the wording of these letters, but next time I receive such a letter I will write back and challenge their advice and ask for clarification.
