Hi, sorry to ask but having reread the link CD put up I am still confused;

if you are on ESA and are sent a new ESA50, who looks at this form? Does the DM only look at it after you have attended a WCA?

Best wishes,
Rachel

The ESA50 is normally issued by ATOS and returned to them after completion. An ATOS "doctor" will then review the form and any evidence attached to see if you meet the requirements of the WRAG or Support Group without a medical, if you do, then your file, including the ESA50, is returned to the DWP, if not, then it is passed on to the allocated "doctor" for a medical to be held.

In either case, once returned, the DWP Decision Maker will review the ESA50 and attachments in parallel to the ATOS medical report ESA85(A) in order to make a Decision on the claim.

Thanks Gordon, that was very clear!

So there is a slim chance that someone on ESA may not have to go to another WCA,

although most of us seem to.

Best wishes,
Rachel
