DLA Awarded First Time!

I went to Citizen's Advice and went through the form with them initially. I even suggested to them that they may be interested in having membership of Benefits and Work (fell on deaf ears though).
Anyway, I went through the form step by step and repeated myself over and over again, whilst also supplying letters from my Consultant and GP, and received a response within 2 weeks of posting the form.
Incredible!
Needless to say, without this site it would have been impossible, I think.
For information, my claim was with regard to Mental Health problems (BiPolar).
For anyone else out there who finds the forms very stressful, I can only say that it took me a few days to put mine together. Baby steps is the answer (for me anyway).
Once again, thank you so much.

Just wanted to say thank you very, very much for the incredible pdf document which helped me put together my application for DLA.

B&W is the most incredible resource and I should have commented earlier.
I often look on the site, but don't often comment. I do have lots of information I have gathered and other useful sites etc and never know whether it's appropriate to list them anywhere.
However, there was a very useful site for template letters etc by a Welfare Rights Specialist and I used those too. Should I provide the link?

Hi KJ,
Anything that may help members is always welcome.
Members can view it, and decide for themselves whether it will be helpful to them.
cheers

I am going to go through the information I have found over the last 3 years or so, on various topics to do with DLA etc.
One of the most useful placed I found (aside from B&W) was Neil Bateman
I subscribed to his site so that I could have access to all of the template letters (£8.50) and have used a number of those letters, including appeal letters.
I will try and post other links that may be useful to other members tomorrow and over the next few days.
Hope that one is a good start.
