Confused about the WRAG!! was created by juliette
Hi everyone

I was put in the WRAG group- like many others on here,a few days before my medical was due. What pee's me off, is that they caused me all that undue stress for nothing, which put a lot of strain on my family and the CPN :silly: The letter stating my migration from IB only landed on my door step a few days before the medical, but nobody informed me that there was no need for a medical. I did ring ATOS up in tears and was told that the medical had been cancelled. But why wasn't I informed? Why are they treating me like this? I asked for a statement of reason, but still,I have not received one,and this was weeks ago! It's now too late to appeal for the support group and I have had to cancel four WRAG interviews because I have been too ill. I will say though, that the JC woman was really understanding and they have let me cancel this many interviews.I just don't think I will beable to handle going back to work at the moment. I am bipolar and suffer anxiety, although I am stable at the moment.

Is it too late to appeal for the support group?

Thanks in advance

I see from your posts that it has been just over a month since you were expecting to attend a medical.

Have you received written notification that you were being placed in the WRAG? It is the date of this letter that the normal one month to lodge an appeal relates to.

There is an ESA appeal guide in the Members Only area that explains how to lodge an appeal and a GL24 Appeal form can be downloaded from here

I need to make you aware that appealing a Decision can result in your existing claim being removed, although this is unlikely given that a Decision was made without a medical.

You also need to be aware that appealing to be placed in the Support Group may not remove the requirement for you to attend WFIs, this seems to be at the discretion of the local DWP office.

If possible you should seek advice from your local CAB or Welfare Rights office, however, if we can help, please come back to the forums.

Hi

Thanks Gordon

I have been waiting for the statement of reason, which as you know, I haven't received, but I will seek advice from my local CAB. The JC are being quite lenient with me,so I guess this may help.

I think it's too late to lodge an appeal though. I will ask the CAB

It is the Decision letter that is important as an appeal must be lodged within one month of its date, if necessary you should not wait for other information to be provided.
