IB To ESA was created by oneandonly
When transferring to ESA if my other half only makes the wrag group are they only entitled to one years money ?? We are hoping for the support group. But getting rather confused. At present does not have to hand in any sicknotes and has not for alot of years.

Your partner does not need to provide Fit Notes during the transfer process as they are already considered to be Unfit for Work as result of their IB award.

Everyone transferred from IB will be placed on Contribution Based ESA. ESA(CB) is limited to 365 days for members of the WRAG, time spent in the Support Group does not count towards the total, after the time limit is applied, they may be eligible for Income Related ESA, subject to the associated mens test. When transferring to ESA if my other half only makes the wrag group are they only entitled to one years money ?? Hi, I also transferred from IB to ESA and I rang up about this question. I was told that you are protected and if placed in the WRAG group you are not time limited.

. The only people for whom the WRAG is not time limited are those who are entitled to income-related benefit.

OMG! I rang Jobcentre plus and was told not to worry since I was protected. I am trying to decide if I should appeal my placement in WRAG and this changes everything. I have only recently spoken to them about it.

I am afraid that the people who answer the phones are often not fully conversant with the system.
