How long to get medical report? was created by SoulMan
I had a appointment with my consultant last week and i would like to get a copy of his report. Im aware that i can take a while to the secratary to type things up so when is best to apply for a copy?
Am i correct in thinking the request has to be in writing? i was thinking about sending a letter explaining i had an appointment on this date, can i get a copy when his secretary has written it.
I was wondering if they just print off copys from the date you send them the letter which would mean if the secretary hasn't finished writing it i might miss it and the just send me old reports
Isit worth phoning his Secretary? i did think about this but i thought she might not be able to authorize it and you have to write direct to the hospital etc

Hi SM,
You can make a request that all your Consultant's post clinic letters are copied to you.
I did this with a simple verbal request. However, you could e-mail the consultant's secretary now and make such a request.
There should be no forms to fill out, but if you have any problems with the request, contacts PALS at the Hospital in question, they will sort it out for you.
