Asking for a revision was created by kankan
I have been moved from IB to WRAG without a medical. I feel I should be placed in support group. Should I ask for a revision before going for an appeal. If yes do I need to provide additional evidence

It is really up to you, however, our recommendation is to appeal, the processes are identical, but you may well save your self several week or even months by appealing from the outset rather than asking for a Reconsideration and then appealing.
Whether you need to provide extra evidence is really dependant on what you have already submitted and what you can acquire.
Whilst, Reconsiderations are often taking months to be completed, they can still be done in weeks, so if you do not have any new evidence or it will take a while to produce, then it may be worth initially looking at what you have already submitted to see if you can point out where the Decision Maker has not given enough weight to what you have provided. When, and if, the additional evidence becomes available, you can forward it on to the DWP.
You need to be aware of the following
Is there any risk to challenging a decision?
How long do I have to appeal?
How to submit an appeal
Qualifying for the Support Group
Disability Rights UK Factsheet - Appeals and reconsiderations
MOJ Video of ESA Appeals Process and Tribunal
12 Month Limit for ESA(CB)
Do I have to attend WFIs while I appeal?
Our ESA Appeal guide is available on the following link

I submitted an appeal as you suggested and I have been placed in Support Group on reconsideration. I am delighted especially as I have been informed that it is for the maximum allowed - 3 years. Thank you for the information and guidance.
