I'm not sure if I'd say they would probably wait longer only that it is possible in a situation like this for 'easier' cases to be prioritised as well as cases where people 'make a fuss'. I would recommend asking for a reconsideration as a first port of call for anyone who feels the decision is unfair.

It is unusual for them to contact your GP but they sometimes do. It is possible that the form they sent to your GP went 'missing' so you may want to contact them to tell them he/she has not received anything. However his could just be an excuse. If you have a representative such as a welfare rights worker you could ask them to contact on your behalf. Or you could try contacting your local MP.

Hi d59,

Again, this wait is ridiculous, and you are just one of many who are suffering such delays.

You can complain to ATOS by e-mail :

I would also consider complaining to your M.P. :

Contacting your MP

Hi I went to my medical Monday. 20 minutes in I was informed by the nurse I have to come back and see one of the GP's as she can't deal with my illness.

I have no complaints so far the nurse was very pleasant and couldn't apologise enough.

I hope my next appointment goes as smooth and as pleasant as the 20 minutes I had this week. I'm under no illusion though as iv heard lots of negative stories.

I will let you know the outcome of my next medical.

Thanks for all your information x
