The DWP has taken the first, long overdue, step towards trying to discover how many people are missing out on DLA and AA. Anne McGuire, Parliamentary Under-Secretary at the DWP has announced that the Policy Studies Institute is conducting a feasibility study "to establish whether a methodology can be developed that will provide an accurate and robust estimate of the levels of take up of these benefits." The result of the first stage should be available in spring 2007 and a decision will then be made as to whether to move on to stage two of what is intended to be a three stage study.
