The latest statistics released by the DWP show that over one third of a million DLA claimants have so far been refused any award when they were reassessed for PIP.

Between April 2013 and April 2018 1,264,000 DLA claimants were reassessed for PIP.

The award rate for these reassessments is 72% over the whole period.

This means that approximately 354,000 DLA claimants got nothing at all when they were reassessed.

Of those who did receive an award:

623,000 (71%) received an award at the enhanced rate.

346,000 (39%) received the highest level of award i.e. both enhanced rate for daily living and enhanced rate for mobility.

Reassessed DLA to PIP claimants now make up almost half of the PIP caseload.
