If you claim PIP or a range of other benefits, you can now check online to find out when your next payment is due and how much you will receive. The service also shows payments made during the previous three months and could save you a call to the PIP helpline.

As well as PIP, the service covers adult DLA, AA, all types of ESA and JSA, Pension Credit and State Pension.

You will need a GOV.UK One Login, which you can create if you do not already have one. You may also be asked to prove your identity, normally using photo ID such as a passport or driving licence.

However, appointees and others managing someone else’s benefits cannot use the service. It is also not available to people living outside the UK.

Universal Credit is not included. You should continue to check your UC payments through your existing online account.

You can check your benefits and State Pension payments here.

This service is in addition to the get proof of your benefits and state pension service which is also available via GOV.UK.

What on earth is the rationale for not allowing an appointee access?!

When my son was moved onto Universal Credit last year from his previous benefits, it proved to be impossible for him to obtain up to date photo ID as he has been ill for years, and had no contact with the 'right people' to ask to assist in obtaining the Photo Id card. For the same reasons he didn't have an up to date passport, and doesn't drive and therefore no driving licence ID. I tried a couple of routes for him, but failed.

It seems you need this kind of ID to use this service.

No thanks, I will avoid the one login and any ID or age verification for as long as I possibly can.  This is just another back door to digital ID and authoritarian dystopian control.  It will all lead to hacking and major data breaches, identity theft, sale of our private data, private companies such as Palantir owning all our data and when the data breaches happen, and they will, these private companies will get away with it and have no comeback.

All a disaster waiting to happen.
