A vigil and lobby of parliament is being organised by Single Mothers’​ Self-Defence (SMSD) for Wednesday 11 January 2012 to oppose the Welfare Reform Bill and caps on benefits when the House of Lords continues to debate the Bill.

The SMSD are inviting organisations concerned with such issues as, amongst other things, supporting amendments to keep child benefit out of the benefit cap, extending concessions to women fleeing domestic violence, and opposing cuts to disability benefits to attend the lobby. Those unable to attend the lobby are urged to get in touch with their MP or the Lords’​.
