MariW wrote: I’m sorry but I just don’t get it. I can understand if something sent to Bootle were redirected to Wolverhampton but I cannot see how something sent to Bootle can land in Wolverhampton without redirection and my stuff was delivered in less than 24 hours. Looking at the PO receipt for the Atos documents it says Wolverhapton for an envelope marked Bootle. I don’t get it. I’m frantic. I am physically unfit to do it all again. I’ve fulfilled my obligation but that won’t deliver a result.

Hi MW,
I know that it seems confusing, but Wolverhampton is simply a huge national Mail Distribution Centre.
Wolverhampton has different "Sites" and there will be different postcodes used to identify which department the mail is bound for, and should be redirected to.
Think of it like a PO Box Number.
All the mail is opened at Wolverhampton by Royal Mail and private contractors, it is then redirected to the appropriate office.
So, it is therefore possible for someone who lives in Bootle, Liverpool, to be given an ATOS, Bootle return address that goes via Wolverhampton.
I have helped people who have had to return an ESA50 to ATOS, Bootle. In 2011 it went direct to the ATOS address, then later, it went via Jupiter Drive, Chester to ATOS Bootle, now it seems that it is going to ATOS Bootle via Wolverhampton.
As long as you have returned the ESA50 to the return address provided, by the deadline date, you have fulfilled your obligation.
What more can you do ? !!!

Just to clarify,
Are you saying that The ESA50 return address used was ATOS, Bootle, with no mention of Wolverhampton, or a Wolverhampton Postcode ??

MariW wrote: Unfortunately, I didn’t make a copy of the envelope addressed to ATOS in Bootle. I can’t recall the postcode but the address was the same as the covering letter. I have just emailed and my carer has phoned. Apparently, whatever it says on the envelope it all goes to Wolverhampton. The agent said the envelope would have had a Wolverhampton postcode but I didn’t think to scan it. The one and only thing I don’t have it copied and printed out in front of me, My carer did not ask for confirmation of delivery. I have done so in my email. I’ve had enough of it all. I don’t have to live through this process.
Hi MW,
I think that you may be worrying unduly !!

"They" do tend to get you like that, unfortunately.
If you have the recorded delivery receipt from The P.O., make some photocopies of that, and print off the signature and date of signing from The Royal Mail Track and Trace page.
In all my time as a Mod, I cannot remember a member who has had problems after using Recorded or Next Day guaranteed delivery.
Even though initially they did have some concerns as the signature and date of delivery were not available on the Royal Mail website.
An e-mail to ATOS should put your mind at rest, however, it may take some days for your ESA50 to be scanned on to the ATOS systems.
