You would need 2 recording devices as both you and the assessor must have a copy. You may not use a digital recording device. Even then, you would still need to obtain permission, from the assessment provider, in advance.

hubby is able to claim pension credit, would it be easier and better if he done that? would that stop all this mucking around as he can claim pension in nov this year. he is 65 in jan 2018

This might be possible - but this is one of the situations in which we suggest getting face to face advice from a trained benefits adviser as giving the correct advice will depend on knowing details of your financial circumstances.

latest update now is they have canclled his appointment on the 7th april. until they contact us again ?
wonder if there trying to get a recorder. or just relised he has less then a year to retirement ?
