Hi there. No the award was not reduced or anything but i'd feel happier if the right descriptor was chosen as i feel if i am reviewed in the future I've effectively agreed to this descriptor as I have not challenged it and they may use it against me somehow. My only concern about writing directly to the DWP is that if they don't reply within a month I've lost my ability to take it to an appeal.
Many thanks
kind regards
Joey.

An On-Going award means that you will not be reassessed for at least ten years unless you report a change by the time you are any evidence and reports used for this award will be too old to be considered.
You can't appeal if the award is correct but the points are not.
Look, it is your award I don't see any value in your contacting the DWP if it makes no difference to the award but if you want to do this then write to the DWP, I would make it very clear in the letter that you are not requesting an MR just a correction of the points.

Actually the descriptor used was 'using an aid or appliance for preparing food' but should have been 'needs prompting to be able to prepare or cook a simple meal'. Both have the same 2 points value.
