Many thanks Catherine.

It was actually the CAB website that confused me in the first place.

Hopefully everything will align favourably. The whole process causes confusion and plays nasty games with peoples' minds. I'm actually convinced it's designed to do so. There are so many traps within traps and 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' ploys.

Anyways, fingers crossed. Thanks again. Very much appreciated.

Oh dear, sorry if I only fueled your confusion Shemarie. Basically, with where you are in the process, just focus on MR's. Which are a fancy name for 'I think you got this wrong because of x,y, and z. Please will you have a another look in light of what I have said'.

Hoping you get the right decision at the first round.

On the old principle of 'follow the money' Shemarie, I think your suspicions about mind games and traps are well founded....having worked in education I know full well that many honest decent hardworking people are not blessed with the literacy level the forms and guidance notes are pitched at for starters.
Best, Denby

It wasn't you that confused me Catherine. Please don't apologise. It's my own mistake- totally freaking out.

I keep re-running the whole thing to mentally prepare for a MR if necessary. I did so badly at the assessment that I can't see much good coming from it.

For example, he said to me quite out of the blue 'so what kind of food do you cook? Simple food?' And I said 'yes, simple food', fully expecting to be able to explain difficulties, aids/appliances, etc. He moved on so quickly that I didn't get the chance. Now I can see him translating that into 'can easily cook a meal'. I could kick myself. You'd have to have the mind of a snake to see it coming.

I also need to ask you about the likelyhood of them contacting my GP? My GP surgery has been in special measures and I haven't been able to speak to my own GP since mid 2018. If I'm lucky enough to get an appointment at all it's with a different doctor each time. They wouldn't really know me from Adam. Most of my treatment takes place across different departments of the hospital and my previous WCAs have been paper assessments.

Denby, I honestly didn't panic as much over my final exams as I do at the sight of a brown envelope. It's an act of cold, calculated cruelty to throw this at anyone, let alone people who have literacy or learning difficulties. We know it, they know it and there's another DWP related inquest in the news practically every other week. Why isn't there more public outrage?

Sorry for banging on so much. But this is one of the very few places I feel safe to express these concerns without being judged.

Many thanks and best wishes to all.

Hi Shemarie

One of the benefits of being a mod on the forum is that we frequently read members post where it is all doom and gloom and then weeks later we hear that they have received what they were hoping for.

So don't beat yourself up with the 'what if I said this or that' when you receive you White envelope it may be good news, either way it is always advisable to contact DWP and request a copy of the assessors report, I am not sure from your post if it is for UC or ESA WCA. For UC the report is called UC85 and for ESA it is called ESA 85.

If the news is not good then we are here with fellow members to help you, so all is not lost.
