i am still very confused by this
i saw a piece about it on tv but they did not say how to opt out
and the links above are SO long -
why cant the NHS just have a page that says it all simply
still not sure how to do this

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi walker
It can be very confusing; click on the following link: digital.nhs.uk/your-data/opting-out-of-data-sharing, it will take you to the NHS digital page where if you scroll halfway down you will see a green tab which states 'set your opt-out choice' click on it and follow instructions.

For anyone wanting to opt out sharing you whole medical records from your GP Well done to Phil for highlighting all this and a great interview on talk radio. Here is another form like yours.
For anyone that wants to stop your data being used, fill out this and give it to your GP practice civicmc.nhs.uk/files/2021/05/Opt-out-Form.pdf…
The form Gary has posted will only stop things like research NOT data from you practice.

1. Anyone aged 13yrs or over can set their NDOO status via the official NDOO website.
www.nhs.uk/your-nhs-data-matters/manage-your-choice/
2. In addition, the Type 1 opt-out must be register at your GP surgery. See form st the botton of page fill it in and take it to youe G P surgery.
3. The Type 1 opt-out will prohibit the extraction and uploading of your personal confidential data to NHS Digital, for COVID-19 related secondary purposes (GPES Data for Pandemic Planning and Research). The National Data Opt Out alone will not do this.
4. If your a Greater Manchester GP patient consider an opt out for the
The Summary Care Record this will also opt you out of the GM CARE RECORD
