Firstly I have Asperger/Autism,my wife rang the DWP the other day because we strongly believe that I should be getting high Mobility and High daily living..I get low Mobility 4 needs prompting to be able to undertake any journey to avoid overwhelming psychological distress to the claimant and 8 points for various daily living activities of which I believe I should recieve 12 points.

Hi Stevegill5257

Did your wife ask them to look at your claim? The Leap review only looks at mobility. If you are eligible to have your case looked under the Leap Review - then the DWP should contact you. They are still reviewing cases.

If you think you should receive a higher amount for your daily living, you have three options. (I don't know when you were last reviewed.)

1. Put in for a mandatory reconsideration (if you haven't already) and which you can only do for 13 months after the last decision and you would have to argue why you were putting in a late submission.

2. Put in for a change of circumstances - and argue that your medical condition has worsened - this will trigger a review and a new assessment.

3. Get a copy (if you haven't already) of your last PIP assessment report (PA4) and try and understand why you didn't score as highly as you were expecting and see what can be done to improve your answers and increase the chances of you being given a higher award.

Hi
My relative has Aspergers too. She had standard living award at original pip assessment 9 points. Had a recent review and was given 4 points for meeting other people up from 2. Also given descriptor B 2 points for budgeting up from zero. So moved to 13 points and enhanced living award. Answers given in review were same as original form. Probably different assessor made difference.
She was awarded 12 points on mobility given descriptor F. Said on form she cannot use public transport because of sensory overload and high anxiety levels. She had psychological reports confirming this. Don’t know if that helped with award. Maybe you have same problems.
Good luck

Hi BIS my wife asked (dwp)the person on the phone that I wanted a Leap review when the conversation had finished they told my wife that they were sending me a review form.So I assume that is not what I need after all I am sure that I should be getting the high rate mobility with back payment for M/H. I hope it makes sense to you after all my Aspergers/Autism brain is now completely full of nothing.

Hi BIS what I am trying to say is when my wife rang the (dwp) she asked the person on the phone that I wanted the leap review for the mobility component looked at.So at the end of the conversation they said that they will send a review form which I don't think I need it is completely confusing to me.

Hi stevegill5257

Yes we have heard on the forum from other members who contacted the DWP about the Leap Review only to be sent a Review form.

I know that a relative of mine last week had a lump sum of money put in his bank account which turned out to be in connection with Leap Review, but no letter or warning that this money will be going into his bank.
