I guess even if you took a photo of your 'certificate of entitlement' on your phone they would accept that.

I do this at the dentist with a photo of my ESA award letter

Hi Phrank, my understanding is that you might be able to claim back dated exemption as well if you have not claimed this in the past. Not sure how far back you can go but worth a phone call to DVLA to enquire if this is possible if you can face it.

Hi phrank, I would contact the DVLA and ask if you can have a refund on the months since your award letter…. Worth a try
