Is working allowed while on UC LCWRA?

I read it on reddit. Shows where googling can get you!

The whole recent upcoming changes to UC LCWRA, has me fearing losing my LCWRA, as I keep reading how hard it is to get PIP. I've never applied for PIP so fear i will be left without.

I was considering seeing if I could manage some part time from home stuff, but obv won't if its not allowed. The fear of trying to dip your toe in the water but finding out you can't cope and left with nothing is so real.

Thank you to the mods here for answers and steering me straight.

It's strange thought that the mods on reddit seemed to give wrong advice. Unless I'm just reading their posts wrong.

As long as the reasons you gave for the Lcwra are not contravened then working is allowed with Lcwra?

What concerns me is my circumstances are similar wanting to try work but the other replies seem to say I'll be in serious trouble for trying to work on Lcwra?

Work definitely is allowed in LCWRA so i am surprised to see the replies on here.

Being in LCWRA is an opportunity to try different things and see what you can manage.

My son was in LCWRA when he was on UC. Initially he did voluntary work most days but then was offered 6 hours each week supported employment.

As he only earned about £300/month, he kept his UC in full. His income was reported automatically to UC via HMRC. They knew about it and even called me when i queried why his UC wasn't reduced - they said he could earn up to £500 and some per month before having reductions.
