Then again, they might have been doing permmitted work at 50p an hour, or for nothing, on The Works Programme !!! LOL.

If a means-tested benefit claimant spends a night at the Ritz Hotel it's likely that they have a wealthy friend or relative that paid the bill. But regardless of who paid the bill or whether any rules were broken, I don't think the DWP would like it!

Hi, this is a serious question (sort of)!
This week, I have arranged a few outings with a close friend.
Reasons:
1) it is the school holidays
2) I can't afford a holiday
3) my children have just lost their Dad and I am trying to 'treat' them and take their mind of it a bit.
What in reality should I be notifying the DWP about?
1) that my friend is paying for most of the 'fun'
2) that I was away from the house for most of the day yesterday?
it is getting to the point where I just want to curl up in the corner and vegitate (sorry, emotions slipping out).
All that I do is to be the best (and only) parent that my children have.
Any advice/comments welcomed.
Best wishes,
Rachel

I was offered free trip to states early last year it covered flights transfer hotel for me plus carer
what it did not cover was health insurance and that was silly money
I contacted DWP who said they where not bothered but thanks for calling as no one bothers
