Hi Calan,
I actually sent a rather in depth complaint to the writer of the "Sincapacity U.K. article in the Mirror.
I asked him to substantiate his information.
I said how surprised and disgusted I was that The Mirror would print such an article.
10 days on not even the courtesy of a reply, so I am now going to escalate to The Editor, won't be holding my breath re a reply though.
cheers

I know but you would think that the Mirror might be a bit more sympathetic !

Calan,
Well done getting MP involved so quickly. I still think you personally should put in an official complaint to ATOS. It wouldn't have to involve a lot of work, just a simple statement of the facts - the info you presented at interview and the contradictory info recorded by the doctor.
If you complain, they have to record it, give an official response, include it in reports and statistics, etc. But it's your call, obviously.
Re: the press. The only fair treatment I've seen has been quite a lot in the Guardian (Amelia Gentleman in particular) and a few bits in the Mirror Investigates column.
Keep us posted!

I would definitely forward a copy to Ann Begg, i sent her a copy of all my medical papers, my consultants and doctors reports, ATOS report (which amazingly supported me) and the letters from the DWP who, despite overwhelming evidence refused to change their minds and forced me to go all the way to tribunal. I won my tribunal and was awarded high rate care and mobility and full back pay. They go on about saving taxpayers money (they forget we are taxpayers and voters too!) but they waste far more through their intrangidence than anything else.
Ann Begg is head of the seclect committee for disability so send her your evidence, she is trying to change the system and the mindset of hatred that our government seems determined to follow.
