Thanks Rachel. My MP has signed my appeal form as my representtive, so I will get him to forward all the details to Anne Begg. He is also going to help me make a submission to the second Harrington review. He is appalled by some of the cases he is seeing but cant get any press coverage because the editors believe their readers agree with what the Govt are doing !!!

Thanks BB. I have asked for an explanation of how this came about and sent it with appeal forms and said that I am concidering making a report to the GMC about the doctor for the stress and distress this has caused. Ironically stress can be one of the causes for my illness to relapse.

Thanks Andy - you will see from the other posts that I have got my MP involved. I will talk to him about him making a complaint to ATOS on my behalf - maybe - just maybe - they take letters from MP's more seriously - but somehow I doubt it. Thanks also once again to all the moderators and members of this site - it really does help to feel that you are not alone.

The problem is that the government are feeding inaccurate propaganda to the Tory press ie The Sun, The Daily Mail and The Daily Express in particular, with the full intention of deliberately denigrating benefit claimants who David Cameron has openly described as scroungers.
Dame Ann Begg MP chairman of the Work and Pensions Select Committee has taken the unprecedented action of informing the government about serious concerns regarding their most recent misrepresentation of DWP statistics on benefit claimants, in some sections of the media.

Steve - a simple google search would have shown the differances between what I put on my form and what he (yes it was a Doctor)put on my medical report. He says I am suffering from ME when what I really have is a relapsing version of a rare nuerological condition which just happens to have enchephalomyelitis in its title and which at its most severe can be fatal. I have sent all the information including a definition from the National Institute for Nuerology and strokes in the USA (one of the few bodies doing research into my condition) to the DWP in the hope that they see sence.Ironically the medical report was in the main sympathetic in detailing how this affects me on a day to day basis so I am baffled about how I managed to score no points at all.
