The big problem with the JC+ staff is that many of them have no idea what the qualification criteria ESA actually are.
Your GP can still be of immense help to you, but they often fo not understand that there are two groups for ESA and that the qualification criteria are very strict, I would drop them a short note detailing the criteria for the SG, do not forget the Exceptional Circumstances, and ask them to base their report on these, assuming that they agree that you meet one or more of them.

I suspect there is no good answer to this.
My personal view is that you should be aware of all the information in relation to your claim so that you can decide whether it is supportive of not and can therefore make a decision on whether to include it or not.
However, I am also aware that there can be some cases where patient information can be classed as harmful to the patient and the intention is for the patient not to see this. I have no idea whether this would be an issue in your case.
Providing you have time before you need to post the ESA50 I would contact your GP for permission to open the letter, it should also be recorded as part of your medical records, which you should be able to access for free providing the information is less than 40 days old.
Failing that, it is up to you.
