The DWP has announced that millions of people will receive their benefits payments early to avoid a delay in payment due to the August bank holiday.

Benefit payments originally due on Monday 31 August will instead be paid early on Friday 28 August.

This will apply across the whole of the UK, including Scotland.

The benefits affected are:

  • Attendance Allowance
  • Carer’s Allowance
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Employment Support Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Industrial Injuries Compensation Scheme
  • Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Pension Credit
  • Personal Independence Payment
  • State Pension
  • Universal Credit
