Inclusion London is asking disabled people to join them in a campaign against disability hate in the media by reporting harmful coverage and allowing advertisers to be targeted.

Readers of this website know the degree to which hatred is whipped-up against disabled claimants in an ongoing campaign to cut the benefits bill.  The vicious, negative stereotyping in the media is particularly apparent right now, in the run-up to the release of the Milburn and Timms reports.

Inclusion London is asking disabled people to report negative disability coverage whenever they see it, by completing a short form on their website. They also want to know which organisations adverts are running alongside this content.

The group aims to firstly monitor all areas of the media including print, online news, TV, radio, podcasts and social media to build a clear picture of how disabled people are portrayed.

From this evidence they will build up a clear picture of the narratives and stereotypes that are being deployed.

They will then encourage companies to pull their advertising from publications that spread prejudice and hate.
